You need about 4 yards of lace to make this dress.

This dress has 5 basic blocks in it.

1) Bodice block front
2) Bodice block back
3) Skirt block front
4) Skirt block back
5) Sleeve block

1) FRONT BLOCK BODICE

For the front block Bodice, you need your neck depth, bust, underbust, waist circumference divided by 2 to get it accurately. Don’t forget to add seam allowance to the sides and center joining. Note that the princess cut slant goes into the armhole, not the neck. (Study the pictures below)

2) BACK BLOCK BODICE

For the back bock bodice, you need the second half from the circumference measurements you used for the front block. Now the back will have an opening at the back for zip and will also have darts.

3) FRONT BLOCK SKIRT

You need your length from the waist down. Also, measure your waist and hip circumference and divide into two to get the front block skirt. You will use the fullest part of which is the hip to cut your fabric on fold for the skirt. Mark on fabric and shape to your desire. Make sure you add your seam allowance for the sides joining.

4) BACK BLOCK SKIRT

Use the measurement left from the circumference you divided into two for the front block to create the back block skirt. Further divide into 2 at the back for the zip insertion. Remember to add a slit for ease when the wearer walks with it and seam allowance for joining.

5) SLEEVE BLOCK

We have a 2 in one-sleeve design here, eg. long fitted sleeve and flare at the hem.
You need your arm circumference plus your three- quarter sleeve length. Then you need your flare length.
